  1. Features of International Cooperative Education Programme of HIT
Taking full advantage of their premium education resources, HIT and University of Sydney join hands to work on the cooperative education programme and carry out the education plan made by the two sides. During the study in HIT, students have access to intensified English courses as well as bilingual education. Some courses offered by teachers from the University of Sydney, with teachers of HIT participating in the teaching or assistance. The students will be examined by the evaluation mode of cooperative university, which shall enable students to adapt to the learning mode of the Australian side in advance.
Course system is in line with that of University of Sydney so that the students could not only master professional and advanced knowledge but also improve their capability in cross-cultural communication and comprehensive skills. All the above will give the students an advantage in their further study or job market after graduation.  
  2.  Registration and Enrollment of International Cooperative Education Programme
  According to the renewed agreement between HIT and the University of Sydney in October 2011, the number of the students involved should be limited to 20 of each major every year in the international co-education programme. In the year of 2013, the numbers of students recruited in Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Zhejiang are respectively 8, 4, 4 and 4.
  There are three things that students should pay attention to: requirements on English abilities, and economic support, as well as the characteristics of the programme catering to international cooperative education.

  3. Educational Mode for Students in the International Cooperative Education Programme
  The educational mode features ‘double campus’ and ‘double degrees’. Students in the programme will spend 4-4.5 years in their study. For the first and second year students shall study in the School of International Cooperative Education of HIT. After the first two years, if the average score is over 75 and IELST (International Language Testing System) marks reach 6.5(marks of each unit no less than 6.0) the students for the following 2-2.5 years shall study in the University of Sydney( study can be finished in two years with hard work).
  Credit points obtained in HIT and University of Sydney are recognised by both sides and students will attain a certificate of Bachelor’s Degree from University of Sydney after finishing all the study and obtaining the credit points required in the programme. With the transcript and thesis in the University of Sydney, students could apply for a bachelor degree of relevant majors and obtain a diploma and certificate of Bachelor’s Degree if approved.
  Students of HIT if after the study in HIT fail to meet the requirements on course credits or English level required by the cooperative university could take the courses again in the next year. After the repeated study, if they meet requirements they may go abroad for study with the students of next grade; if not, their student status will be abolished.
  HIT will keep their student status for 2 to 3 years after they go abroad and may abolish it in case of the occurrence of severe violation of regulations and rules which poses adverse impact on the reputation of HIT. Students who fail to obtain a student visa could transfer to the same major of HIT with the finished courses approved by related school and they may graduate after finishing all the courses of the major.
  4. Fees for Students in International Cooperative Education Programme
  Tuition fees of students in international cooperative education programme in HIT are 16,500 yuan per year with accomodation and spare fees same with that of other undergraduates. Tuition fees in the cooperative university go in line with the standards for overseas students of that year and the current fee is 33,800 Austrian dollars per year.
  Students are also responsible for the application fee of the cooperative university, fees for passport and visa, for international travelling, medical insurance, living expenses, etc.
  5. Treatment for Students in International Cooperative Education Programme
  Students in international cooperative education programme hold the HIT student status and should satisfy the same requirements like other full-time undergraduates. They could apply for People’s Scholarship, however they are unable to enjoy national loan, subsidy for poverty-ridden students and cannot transfer their major.
  During the study in cooperative university, students are registered as international full-time students and hold the formal student status.
  Students with good academic performance could also apply for other scholarships of the cooperative university.
