Introduction to deeds of Xin Lichen:
Xin Lichen, male, born in July 1992, is a student from the School of International Cooperative Education, majoring in Electrical Engineering and Automation of HIT of 2010. During the winter holiday of the second grade in senior high school, Xin finished his first novel “Spirit” and published it in May 2009. After that, in July the same year, he was included in the Writers’ Association of Heilongjiang province. On 22 August 2009, a charity sales meeting of his book was held in the Central Bookstore of Harbin by Fund of Adolescent Development of Heilongjiang Province with 58 books sold and 2015 yuan earned and donated to the fund. Xin decided to help a poor student from Fuyuan County of Jiamusi. Thus, Xin was the first high school ‘volunteer of the Hope Project’ of Heilongjiang Province.
During the summer holiday after high school graduation, Xin worked as a volunteer for Fund of Adolescent Development of Heilongjiang Province. His work included writing articles, collecting materials and typing, the income from which he donated to another poor student again. In the winter holiday of 2010, he became a member of the Dawn Project by the Fund and worked as a volunteer teacher for the children of migrant workers for the whole holiday under Qimingxing Committee of Northeast Forestry University, thus winning the honour of ‘Ten Loving Figures of the Hope Project of Heilongjiang Province in 2010’. He, in the council of the Fund, met Meng Guangbin, the winner of the May 1st Labour Medal. On knowing Meng’s poor condition, Xin donated his television and some other household appliances of his own and found a job for his daughter. On April 4th 2011, Xin attended the memorial meeting of Zhang Qingyun, one of the ten ‘Moving Personnel of Heilongjiang Province’ and decided to help a poor pupil from Qingyun Primary School. For his support and contributions to the Hope Project, he was selected to appear on the colour page of People of the Harbin Yearbook in 2010.
